Dr. Thor Hanson is an award-winning writer and naturalist from the Pacific Northwest.  He served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer for two years in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, helping to establish the park’s gorilla tourism program.  His research and conservation work have taken him to countries around the world, including Kenya, Tanzania, Australia and Costa Rica.  Hanson has authored dozens of scientific and popular articles and was a contributing writer to Wilderness Comes Home: Re-wilding the Northeast.  The Impenetrable Forest is his first book.
